I have a dozen or so backup discs from a previous computer made using OneCare. With OneCare no longer available, how do I get the songs/pictures/files/etc off the backup discs and onto my new computer? I'm not terribly knowledgeable about computers and when I try to open or copy the files on the backup discs I just see gobbledygook. I did this before when the new computer had OneCare installed and it was a breeze. Is there anyway to do it now without OneCare on the new machine? Help Mr. Wizard!

You can use the One Care backup restore tool to recover your backups - http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/onecarebackupandrestore/thread/e5d686c8-762b-4b22-bc08-bfb93f911e57

I have downloaded the restore tool and as soon as I find the box the discs are in I will give it a go. Once again, you have my gratitude. Thank you.
