Discussion windows printer settings

It appears that if you print from any window app (eg. notepad) to a windows printer with altered settings that are specific to printer1 eg. LEGAL page size 11X17, landscape etc and then after the first print, try to print again from the same open notepad app to another windows printer by selecting a different printer from the drop down, windows will retain the LEGAL 11X7 and landscape settings for this second printer as well. In several cases, these options are not what the second printer can handle.

Shouldn't windows refresh all printer setting defaults when a different printer is selected from the drop down on the printer dialog? Is there a way to do this without having to close out the windows application and resubmit the second print.

P.S. If you close notepad and try to print to printer2 again, you will get the correct default printer2 settings back. This is exactly what should happen if printer2 is chosen from the drop down after a print to printer 1.

Is there a bug fix or config that can help reset default printer settings on subsequent prints from a windows application? Thanks in advance for your input/comments

You have erroneously posted your question in a public forum that deals with questions about the Microsoft Project desktop application only.  Please repost your question in one of the forums dedicated to questions about Windows.  Hope this helps.
