Întrebare Projects are dropping tasks and task names

With our project server 2010 install we have a couple of the PMs reporting that randomly the project files are dropping tasks and task names fromthe project files.

Here are some of the things one of the PMs have done to try and resolve.

    • Closing my file, discarding changes, checking in, rebooting my laptop (no change when it is reopened)
    • Restoring from backup via the admin on Project Server to a date that I know it was okay
    • Removing all files from the cache (both within Project Professional and by going deleting directly from the location of the temp files on my local drive)

Has anyone got an idea on what would cause this or what I would need to look at to try and find out.

    Hi Glenn--

What is the Service pack/CU level on MS project /project server 2010? I had similar issue with one of my customer & found that August 2011 CU for MS project is having a fix to similar issue.
Please see the below support article.
Task names and other demand-loaded properties are lost after you perform undo actions in Project 2010.

     Hope that helps.

It looks like we did not have that patch pushed to the clients, I have now organised it and have the PMS checking. Thanks for this.. I will let you know how it goes.
