Notifications on Assigned Threads

How does a forum user know that a thread has been assigned to her/him, without having to check the "My assigned threads" link? Some time ago, there were email notifications like the one below, but I (and my co-workers) haven't received them for a while now:

UPDATE: This bug does exist. It's being pulled to address in the next iteration to see whether it can be fixed.
So this thread was a great reminder of this issue. Another great reason to go through all the old threads!
