Unanswered Job Stuck in "Submitted" State on HPC 2008

    Whenever I submit a job from a workstation to the cluster, the job gets stuck in the "Submitted" state. What should my first step be to correcting this problem? The cluster is 8 64bit Windows HPC 2008 machines and the workstation is Windows XP 64bit Pro.

    Some updates:

    I tried running the task via command line from the cluster itself (logged into the head node under an admin account) and got the same results. I then tried submitting a job through the GUI, and a window pops up that says "please wait for validation" and is hanging there.


    EDIT: I tried shutting the HPCScheduler Service off (to restart it), but get the following error: "Error 1061: The service cannot accept control messages at this time."
