I am new to CRM 2011 deployments but i have a few questions that hopefully someone will be able to shed some light on.
In this scenario we will only be using the outlook connector to access the CRM installation.
Internal access is working fine however in order to allow outlook clients do i have to configure the server in IFD mode with claims based authentication or are there other alternatives that can be accomplished with just port forwarding style access? is claims
based the only way or are forms based an option etc.
Any insight on the best way to do things would be very much appreciated.
If the Outlook clients are connected to CRM on the same LAN then you don’t need to enable the IFD mode, that only needs to be enable if you want your outlook clients to connect externally from other networks through internet, to enable IFD
you will have to use claims based authentication which provides also forms based authentication.
