I've discovered that in the last 2 weeks about 250,000 duplicate contacts have been created in CRM. After extensive testing, these new contacts are being generated during the CRM Outlook sync process, and are all duplicate of 62 original contacts (we
had about 30,000 contacts in CRM prior to this). We are working with MS to determine the cause (ActiveSync and other sources have been eliminated), and I'm working on a cleanup strategy. I wanted to check with the community to see if anybody has
seen something like this and determined why it might be happening, as well as let people about this issue to watch out for it. Any information anybody has on this would be greatly appreciated.
I've experienced the same with our internal CRM from my Outlook Client after rebuilding my PC. However, I haven't had time to look into it (client's issues are always more important than our own), so I can provide no further useful information.
I just turned synchronisation off, because I rarely use the CRM Outlook client.
