This was working until just a few days ago. I purchased the disk from TigerDirect along with all of the hardware necessary to build a new pc.

Hello CyberCyclist,

There are two things that jump out at me from your Diagnostic Report.

1) "The service has not been started." error in the Licensing Data section is telling me that Windows is able to run a Service. The Service that I believe it's referring to is the "Software Protection Service"

2) "HrOnline: 0xC004C533" in the Windows Activation Technologies section. This translates to "notification unknown state". In combination with issue #1 above, This makes sense because Windows uses the "Software Protection Service" to check itself and determine it's Genuine state. If it can't run the service, the Genuine state would be unknown.

This is the first time I have seen these errors, so I may be incorrect, but it does, at least, give us a direction to start troubleshooting.

Please click the Start button and type: Services and then hit the 'Enter' key. Thsi will pring up the Services windows. Scroll down the list od Services till you find the "Software Protection" service. Right-click on the service and select Properties. Confirm that the "Startup Type" is set to "Automatic (Delayed Start)". Once you have made the change (if needed) click the Apply button. Next click the Start button and then click OK.

The non-Genuine messaging may go away right away or you may need to reboot.

Come back and tell us if this resolved the issue. But if you have any problems or receive any errors, please describe the problem and/or provide the full error text that was given.

On a side note, bertmace26 is correct, your Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 was installed using a Volume License key that is Invalid. Invalid means that Microsoft did not create that key. It was created using a piracy tool called a Key Gen program.

thanks for the help guys. I wasn't aware of the Office problem and I appreciate the catch.

The Software Protection Service is running, the default settings are being used: Automatic Startup (Delayed), logging in as Network Service. I verified that these settings match another machine in the office.

Would you go to http://microsoft.com/genuine and click the Validate Windows butto. as long as the site is able to run a Validation, the Genuine Validation result may correct the "notification unknown state".

If that doesn't resolve the issue, I recommend creating a (no cost) support request at http://support.microsoft.com/gp/contactwga for additional assistance.
