The Problem: After Uninstalling OneCare from my desktop running XP Professional (using the Uninstall button in OneCare), the desktop will not boot into a a given user profile - if a user profile is selected, the computer will attempt to load preferences then automatically go into a system restart.
The Situation: OneCare expired - renewals are no longer available - Product has been discontinued. As Recommended, I uninstalled OneCare to install Microsoft's Security Essentials
How do I fix this glitch?

Boot into Safe Mode then type "msconfig" without the quotes in the Start Menu Run box to launch the System Configuration Utility. In the System Configuration Utility select "Diagnostic Startup, click apply and ok. Restart the computer and download and run the One Care install cleanup tool - http://download.microsoft.com/download/4/c/b/4cb845e7-1076-437b-852a-7842a8ab13c8/OneCareCleanUp.exe After running the cleanup tool launch the System Configuration Utility again, select "Normal Startup", click apply and ok, restart the computer. If you are still unable to log on you can contact support for help.
