Windows Live OneCarecleanup.exe stops Windows Live Essentials

  Problem with a perfectly good install of  (uninstalled first WindowsLiveOneCare ) Windows Live Essential Installation after running OneCareCleanup .exe:

  Downloaded and ran one CareCleanUp.exe without uninstalling Windows Security Essentials. Now Security Essentials is completely unresponsive, although Defender seems to be working just fine. Defender even updated itself.

  Red Icon in notification are > Computer at risk, real time protection 'off'; when I tell it to start the program it says 'Couldn't start the Microsoft Security Essentials service - The specified service does not exist as an installed service'.

  Trying to uninstall Windows Live Essentials: : Programs and Features> Windows Live Essentials> gets admin authorization, but then there is no reaction whatsoever. Cannot uninstall this program.

  Trying to install new download: : Microsoft Security Essentials is already installed. Error code 0x8004FF00B.

  How do I get Microsoft Essentials either uninstalled or running again?
