pagescore drop for new pages, although 301 redirect are all done
-
5 พฤษภาคม 2552 15:35hi sir,
in March 2009, we have created a set of new web pages using descriptive filenames, as part of SEO exercise.
although we use 301 redirect for all old pages to the new pages, the pagescore for new pages are still very low now..
our pages used to have pagescore of 4-5 before, now it's 1 or 0 for the new pages.
our domain is http://www.wamp-it.com/
keywords are: "dvd replication", "cd replication", "cd jewel cases"
any advice for me please?
thanks a lot.

5 พฤษภาคม 2552 17:41Hi,
Are we still showing any of the old URLs in our index? If so, could you send me SERP links?
thanks,
Brett

Hi Brett,
Below are old URLs.. they still have high pagescore today..(1) http://wamp-it.com/wmsbDesignProd.html [pagescore 5]
(2) http://www.wamp.com.my/wmsbDesignProd.html [pagescore 3]
(3) http://www.wamp-it.com/wamp-Sitemap.html [pagescore 5]
For my new URLs below:
(4) http://www.wamp-it.com/design-post-production.html [pagescore 1]
(5) http://www.wamp-it.com/disc-replication-packaging.html [pagescore 1]
(6) http://www.wamp-it.com/sitemap.html [pagescore 1]
In fact, we have also done:
301 redirect from "wamp-it.com" to "www.wamp-it.com"
301 redirect from (1) to (4)
301 redirect from (2) to (4)
301 redirect from (3) to (6)
Above are only some of the cases. Other URLs are having the same problems.
Most of the new URLs still have pagescore of 1 or even not indexed.
We have a list of PDF files, all listed in http://www.wamp-it.com/sitemap.xml
Almost all of them are not indexed on MSN.
Hope to have your advice soon.
Thanks. -
6 พฤษภาคม 2552 2:50Another 2 URLs listed as "Top Pages" of our web site are:
http://www.wamp-it.com/SiteMap-wamp-it-com.xml [pagescore 4]
http://www.wamp-it.com/Library-Document/Design-Guide-Amaray-Case-7mm-Inlay-Paper.pdf [pagescore 3]
301 redirect have also been done to above 2.
I expect MSN to list our new URL.
Thanks. -
7 พฤษภาคม 2552 6:06hi Brett,
another question...
does it matter if we keep web pages (HTML) in www.wamp.com.my if we have already done 301 redirect for all pages to www.wamp-it.com ?
we in fact removed all physical HTML files from our web server for www.wamp.com.my since March
yesterday we uploaded all those HTML files again to www.wamp.com.my to see if it will help.
anyway, they should all already be forwarded to www.wamp-it.com
hope to have your advice.
thanks. -

do you have any advice for me please?

Hi,
Looking at this:
I see we are registering the canonicalization--all the pages I see start with www.
If you are using the "site:" query, the /sitemap-wamp-it-com.xml shows up without a title or description. This is what I would expect to see for pages that are being redirected.
I did not see the other old pages in the index. For various intentional reasons (that I can't go into), we do not pick up 301 pages immediately or apply old page scores to these new pages. It is possible that we are now starting to pick these up. As much as I and everyone else may like it to be different, sometimes it is a waiting game.
I wouldn't worry about uploading files to .my since we are registering the redirect.

13 พฤษภาคม 2552 7:53Hi Brett,
Thanks for reply.
If we have no choice but to wait, any advice on the timeframe please?
For our 301 redirect, I'm surprised they will NOT be picked up upon next crawling.
Maybe we shouldn't have removed the old pages and done 301 redirect if we have known this beforehand.
But will the pagescore of old pages be finally applied to the redirected new pages please?
Or the old pagescore will simply disappear forever?
Thanks again.
