Setting up a domain name i bought from a registra company

Hi Guys,
I want to know where I should post questions about setting up and configuring my windows server 2008 r2 machine to use a domain name that I bought from a registra company.
I need to set this up as I want to convert my websites to use https rather than http. I was previously using a 3rd party company to do the DNS translation but when I tried to purchase a SSL certificate I was prevented because the domain name I was using was already registered and so I could not purchase it.
I have now bought a domain name and want to modifiy my server to use this name rather than the one supplied by the 3rd party
