SteadyState hangs on system update

  Dell Latitude 6500 with Windows Vista SP2 and Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) 12.  Systems are running SteadyState v2.5.  Within the last several months, the systems would hang on shutdown showing a SteadyState window "The system will shut down in 10 minutes for a scheduled update" on some of the computers.  The message is on a different random set of machines each morning.  The systems will not shutdown on their own and I have to force the power off and start the system.  Any ideas how I might fix this?
