Install and activate – or telephone the activation people and ask if it’s valid. Note that any response that it’s valid is ONLY itself valid at the time.
The best way to ensure that it’s valid is to be sure of the source – if you’re not sure of the source, return it, or preferably don’t purchase it in the first place.
