    Install connector - password incorrect problem  WS 2011

    Essentially I reinstalled 3 times. All machines (win 7 64) see the server, the server sees all machines.

    Start a browser to servername/connect, get to the connector software download, starts up, gets to password... incorrect password. What am I missing here? :(

    Now FWIW, these machines were at one time on a HP470 (32bit) server. Is it possible there's a conflict there somehow? I actually had a problem with that one connecting. For some reason (after years of use) it lost contact it and I could never figure out why or how to get it back. Same thing there. It could see all machines, all machines could see it. Hence building this new box (with more storage space).

    This didn't help me but quite a few found it worked for them...

    •Start –> type secpol.msc in the Search Box and click the magnifying glass
     •Select Local Policies –> Security Options –> Network Security: LAN Manager Authentication level
     •Change the setting to Send NTLM response only 
    •Save
     •Restart the machine
     •Attempt the installation again.
