  From what I read in a different thread, Phil (from MS) said it was the full retail version and only works with the WGA key they will give you.

  I would wait for someone at MS to confirm that for you, though.

  Yep! Al's correct! Retail is the classification. Please remember that any major hardware changes will need a telephone activation phone call - but you will not need to purchase a new license.
