Is it possible to stitch in both the x and y axis by using a snaking zigg zag action whilst panning?

  Firstly, thanks for an awsome bit of software.

  Is stitching restricted to either the  horizontal or vertical axis? I'd like to get  just my daughter in focus by using a shallow dof, in a larger landscape with a squarish aspect ratio. If it isn't possible to use a sig zagging action, could I stitch two or more stitched images to get a a square aspect ratio?
