    I have a laptop. Joulemeter showed the monitor using 3.5W (at dim setting). After my son bought civ 3 from Steam and installed it, Joulemeter shows the monitor using 25% more power on the same dim setting.

    What changes could the game have made and how would I go about changing the settings back? In general I have an interest in EMR (electromag. rad.) and hence am interested in knowing how certain programs may affect the frequency and power setting of monitors and other hardware resources.
