MCTS Course Material SQL Server and Business Intelligence

I am interested in specializing in SQL Server and SQL Analysis Services
I have been working with SQL Server for approx 3 Years and Analysis Services for approx 6 Months.
I have now decided that the above is what I intend specializing in. I do realize that to get started I would need to complete the MCTS Certification.
I would be doing this on Self Study basis and need to know what would be best course material to invest in for the following two exams as a starting point : 70-445 and 70 - 431

I suggest that your work on the 70-431 exam first. Since you have been working with SQL Server for a while you would do fairly well with this. You may want to take a practice exam to see where you are and then concentrating on the areas where you are weak. Here is a link to the Microsoft Learning resource page for this exam: http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/exams/70-431.aspx I have used the self-paced training kit from Microsoft to study for this exam. No book can cover all of the topics for the exam but this one does a decent job.
It has links to books, eLearning, practice exams and other resources to help you get ready.
Once you pass this exam you can work on the 70-445 exam.

I am assuming you are talking about dimension modeling well that is only 25 percent of the exam. I passed the C# MCPD Web exam 70-547 and 70-445 in one day and passed 70-431 and 70-446 in another day, I have used SQL Server since 7.0 and I also use Oracle 8i, 9i and 10g as a developer. The exam 70-445 covers a lot of material and disciplines in SQL Server, Analysis Services, Reporting services development and Admin, Integrated Services and Data Mining.
It will not be easy to pass the exams if you have not used SQL Server 2005 in production and development using these features because 10 to 15 percent of the exam 70-445 is drag and drop of different tasks using Dimension modeling, Prediction Modeling, ETL and Reporting.It also helps if you love math because in practice prediction modeling that is data mining is more complicated than Dimension modeling but in the exams prediction questions were almost the same as dimension modeling if not easier. So yes you can study for both 70-431 and 70-445 together.
