Hi,
the first exams which come to my mind are the support technician MCITPs, but I don't know if they cover hardware specific things (because they are dependend on the vendor - for that you should look for hardware vendor certifications). You should look at the following site to decide if they are right for you - http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/mcitp.aspx#tab2

Since you are new to the field, I'd probably recommend getting Windows 7 certified, as your most likely job is going to be doing helpdesk/workstation support type work. You can get your MCTS by passing your 70-680 and your MCITPs by passing 70-685 and 70-686. Getting a hardware cert like A+ from comptia wouldn't hurt either. You can look into other certs at a later time as your career progresses...
I should note though that the certs wont' guarantee you much other than an interview opportunity and possibly a tie breaker between some else who has no experience in the field. If you have someone you can do some computer repair from and gain some nice hands on experience, that will be beneficial.
