One of my mesh installations (version 0.9.4014.4) thinks that it is up-to-date when I check "update" or use "/install" with the downloaded 14.7 package.
Has anyone seen this behavior before?
Machine in question: Asus Eeepc 901 Netbook with XP SP3
    (Live Mesh runs normal)

Finally managed to get 14.7 installed.
The most likely reason: visit Microsoft update and installed urgent updates (.Net)
Then did an /uninstall and /install respectively.

Thank you for the ideas and attentions!

As you can see, I'm hooked on Live Mesh. Imagine how people would love it when SkyDrive becomes one of the attached devices!

I had that happen on a machine some time back. The general solution is to uninstall the client and reinstall the client on that machine if a reboot of the machine doesn't resolve it.

If you feel brave and don't want to re-install just yet, try the following:
    Open a command prompt. (command.exe)
Type the following exactly as shown and hit enter.

    Reg.exe delete "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Live Mesh\Servicing" /v WindowsUpdateAgent

    Close the command prompt
From the Live Mesh client, check for updates.

I tried deleteting that key from the registry but it didn't work. Is there another way, apart from uninstalling and reinstalling the client?

    Thanks

    Not that I'm aware of....
Sorry that the key deletion didn't do it for your situation. you did try the simple reboot, yes?

    Sure!

Just checking....sometimes we tend to overlook the obvious.

Let us know if the reinstall resolves it.

    Hi Stephen,
    - rebooted and /repaired..... no effect
    - uninstalled, rebooted, installed.... no effect: version reported is 14.4

I have a folder "servicing", but nothing with the switch "/v WindowsUpdateAgent" you mentioned.
You don't mean deleting the folder "servicing", do you?

    Stephen,

The Mesh version when downloaded from the Live Desktop is 14.4
    Shouldn't this be 14.7 ?
Is there a location where we can download 14.7 ? (update still doesn't work)

When they stage an update, the installer isn't always updated. Sometimes the installer is updated later on, though. To create a new installer with the latest version apparently means more internal testing before it can be staged, while updates go though a testing cycle before being staged to the update server independently of the process for creating and testing a new full install. I will, however, ping the Live Mesh team.

i still can't get it the 14.7 update on at least one of my PCs (have 4 total, only checked 2 so far).  I've deleted the registry key, rebooted, all the usual stuff.

this is the first version where I've had issues updating.

UPDATE: downloaded the installer & did the 'livemesh.exe /repair' and it worked.
