Restrict fields that appear in drill down in Chart CRM 2011

When we click on one of the bars of a chart in CRM 2011, it shows a drill down dialogue that lets you drill down a particular range - subset based on a field like Accounts by Industry chart be drilled down on City or Country.
Although when you have 100s of fields on entity, drill down becomes difficult as you get a long scrolling list, is there a way to choose only few fields that can be made available for drill down ?

Hi,
Dynamics CRM 2011 data grids (entity views) allow you to work with and customize different views of the underlying data. When working with a data grid, the view you select determines the columns and rows you see, as well as how the data are sorted. In entity you see the drop-down list of views available for the your entity data grid, some of them out of the box and some are custom.
The beauty of having the chart pane integrated with the data grid – a.k.a. inline visualization" – is that the data in the view is automatically reflected in any chart you have selected. So you need to add/remove columns in your views and then base your charts.
I hope this helps. If my response answered your question, please mark the response as an answer and also vote as helpful.

Hi Ashish,
Thanks for your detailed answer, although my questions related to the list of attributes we see in drill down of a chart which is "all" fields as shown in the screen below. I am trying to find out a way to limit this long list to a select number of fields that we can choose.

Hi,
That is by design. CRM tries to provide you the whole list to choose from.
I hope this helps. If my response answered your question, please mark the response as an answer and also vote as helpful.

I believe you can set the 'searchable' attribute to 'no' on the fields you want removed from here.
- Edit: Scratch that, doesn't seem to affect the drill down fields, only advanced find!

The drill down list shows attributes in the grid view(to which it is bound)+ all the attributes of the primary entity .There is no supported way to filter out the attributes.
However if you have noticed only attributes from the are shown at top followed by rest of the attributes.
So one of the workaround can be define a View with only the attributes you need , customize the dashboard to render chart against that view. The view attributes will now appear on top which will ease the selection .
Thanks
Sonal.

Hi, I am unable to create Chart for all the fields. For eg:My Account has 5 fields (all custom) and searchable set to True. The currency fields are not egtting summed up in teh chart and showing output as zero.It seems only Count All is working but aggregration(SUM) doesnt works. This issue is when we are trying 2 create a custom chart. However if I select different field on inbuilt charts provided by Microsoft this issue doesnt comes.
This is very critical. Plz help
