antivirus received does not have identifiable publisher

  antivirus is popping and when I get ready to run it I get that publisher cannot be identified by my microsoft security.  I am concerned about this because it is telling me that I have viruses in my computer.  My concern is that this is NOT really an antivirus and that by running this I could INFECT my computer.  PLEASE HELP ME
