Answered Manage Cube Build Service Option Not Appearing - Project Server 2010

    There was a similar post, but I did not want to hijack that thread since it was a few weeks old.

    This is for Project Server 2010

    I have selected the "Manage Cube Build Service" option for some of my local admins (custom Security Template) but the option does not show up under their Database Admin section of Server settings. In fact the only option I can get to appear is the "Force Check-in Enterprise Objects".

    If I make the user a memeber of the Administrators group they can see the option, but that is not a good solution. Is there a dependent permission that I need to grant to make the "Manage Cube Build Service" option appear for a non admin user?

    Weird. Ask them to access the follwing URL after and observe the behaviour.

    _layouts/pwa/CubeAdmin/CubeAnalysisAdmin.aspx

    You do not have sufficient permissions to view the specified page. Please contact your administrator for permissions to view this page.

    If they receive the above message, it means that they dont have permission. Configure the users's global permissions appropriately.

    I have same issue, the user is not able to see the link and when they go there directly get the access error.  It seems like you need to be an Administration to manage cubes?   This worked in 2007.

    Finally got the answer.   You need to grant Manage Site Services as well as granting Manage Cube Build Service.
