Errmm.....Beta Invites?
Just wondering if I could get ahead before the masses come thundering towards this door. Very..very interested in this product and I think my household is very much in the frame for where Home Server is targeted.
I've done quite a few MS beta tests in the last few years and I'd like to think I could give some useful input into this project. With a few desktops, laptops and a XBox 360 around the home and mixture of wired and wireless connectivity there would a good test setup. There's also my wife who just wants a very easy way to get hold of our music and pictures from where ever she is around the house (a good testbed for usability I think!!)
Being able to view and also upload content wherever there's a network connection sounds an awesome idea as well (very useful for holiday snaps I reckon)
Well, that's the end of my grovelling, just hoping to be able to help out on what looks like a great product.
Yours hopefully

- Please try again - multiple people (over 1,000) have been successful. We have tested and retested and cannot reproduce your error.
- I only get the error message when I am signed into my Windows Live account. After I sign out (top right hand corner of the page) it seems to work ok and I get a link to the survey.
Neil I get direted too: https://connect.microsoft.com/site/sitehome.aspx?wa=wsignin1.0&siteid=38

There should then be a link to the survey half way down the page.
It worked for me. You should not be signed into Connect to see this.
Prior to entering your Windows Live ID and password - go to:
- Thanks, that worked!

I had that problem also. If you are sign into Live and then try to register, you get that error message. When is a decision being made on who is invited to Beta 2.
Of all Microsoft products, I am most interested in using Windows Home Server. I'd install it today if I could, heck, I would have installed it years ago if an application like this was ever available.
Pretty please invite me too.
Got a 7 PC multi OS home network, Vista Ultimate, Business, and XP on a variety of specs. if it helps
- This happens if you have your Live ID logged in. It thinks you're trying to access content that you have not been approved for. This should be changed so that you automatically get directed to the "not logged in" page if you're not already part of the beta.
- Is there a way to join in on evaluation if you are a TechNet Plus subscriber? (I am)
I'm very interested in evaluating this software, as I see it being a benefit to many of my clients.
Any help or direction would be appreciated.
-Andy Suarez- Go to the home server page on connect and fill in the q's and you should hear back in a week or so.
