Outlook 2007 scanpst.exe fails to get back 1/3 emails.

  Hi,

  I have a question about failure to get back 1/3 emails with Outlook 2007 scanpst.exe.

  It is a XP Home SP3 with Outlook 20007 SP2 and Windows Desktop Search 4.0.  One day, at the old hardware configuration PC with Celeron D, 512MB RAM and SATA I hard disk, the system was halted.  I found that the hard disk lighted for a long time.  I believe that it might be due to the continous processing of Norton Anti-virus 2010 and Windows Desktop Search at a large PST file.  Its size is over 9GB to store 1-year email.

  After adding RAM to 1GB, Outlook 2007 scanpst.exe failed to run completely.  Then, I move this PST file to a PC with dual-core, 2GB RAM and SATA II hard disk with having the real-time exclusion of this file at NAV and WDS. Scanpst.exe ran successfully with fixing some errors.  However, I still cannot  read back at least 1/3 emails.

  Please help advise how to get them back by which tools.  It is because the emails are important.

  Meanwhile, please give me ideas how to maintenance this kinds of large volume of email at an environment without Exchange Server and any email archiever.
