    You need to pass 70-290 and 70-291 plus one of the elective exams (provided you haven't passed any one of the exams listed below):

    70-086 (retired in March 2008), 70-227 (retired in March 2008), 70-089, 70-228, 70-235, 70-236, 70-262, 70-284, 70-299, 70-350, 70-351, 70-400, 70-401, 70-431, 70-445, 70-500, 70-557, 70-620, 70-624, 70-630, 70-631, 70-638

    70-620 can count one time toward a core client exam or an elective exam, but not toward both.

    First question:

    Are you working or planning to administrator Windows Server 2003 and/or Windows Server 2008 machines?

    Hi, I have been officially told by msdirectservices that to upgrade  MCSA 2000 to MCSA 2003
    i need to take two exams: 290 and 291 only.

    the other elective exams you have mentioned is not advise by Micro soft, any how thanks for your anticipation.

    In MCSA 2000 track i have cleared the following papers;

    210,215,216 and 218.

    Proficiency first. Certification second.

    Earning your MCSA 2003 or MCITP: SA or EA doesn't mean anything without working knowledge and experience on the technology. Nor will the certification alone secure a position of employment.

    My advice is get some knowledge and experience with the technology first. Otherwise you are putting the cart before the horse.
