2008年4月24日 下午 07:13Hello all....I am incredibly interested in certification, but don't know which one would be the best. A little bg--I have been teaching office for 7 years, and can program efficiently using VB in Excel, Access, etc. I can integrate AS400 systems with the macros I write to extract information, and spin, staple, mutilate said information into a nice presentation. I like working with and manipulating data, as well as being behind the scenes with where information is coming from and where it is going. I love, and I cannot stress this enough, love writing in Visual Basic. I get great thrills out of writing even the simplest code. Anyone have any ideas? I though of SQL, but am open to any suggestions. Thanks all, I really appreciate the advice!

Wow, there are several directions you could go in based on what you wrote... I guess the most important question is: what do you do (or want to do) professionally, and what are you looking to certification to provide in that regard? That'll help me steer you down a more focused path.

2008年4月25日 下午 09:00 Well there are actually several directions you could go in.
The first is the Microsoft Certified Application Specialist, these are exams on the various Office 2007 products.
You could also start with either the MCSD.Net or MCPD exams, these are language based exams that could be done in Visual Basic.
The big question is of course what do you want to do :)

2008年4月28日 上午 02:58解答者 In my experience I find the quest for certification much like the quest for employment. You'll always be happier when you follow your passion. If you are unsure of where that may be exactly then go after what interests you and trust me you'll find it.
I know at first glance that seems like a lazy answer, but I'm actually serious. Take me for example, on my road toward certification I found I had a passion for teaching that I had no idea ever existed. It's been 5 years since I got out from behind the admin desk and I've not looked back. If programming VBA for Excel and Access is something you fancy then take a VB class.
Certification is about proving yourself in the field in which you work. So look at what you do now and what you think you may want to do tomorrow, I'm sure you'll find the answer if you don't already have one. And if that doesn't work, well then take'em all. :)
