New Domain Controller with old users and same user profiles

  I have a client who has about 12 Windows 2003 servers, and about 200 workstations all in a single domain, who wants to upgrade to Windows server 2008. He says there are some serious problems with the current domain, and the global security, and insists that he wants to start everything off with an entirely new domain controller.

  I’m trying to figure out what the best way to do this would be. Right now there is a single FSMO server with the old domain. Is there a way to get some of the old global catalog for the new domain without moving over security problems?

  Also, is there a way to do this where each workstation wouldn’t need a new profile?
