hi, is there a trick or a way for the my images to retain it's original file size? I have an image that is around 18k in size but when i upload it using Live Writer it bumps up to 40k. I only used the "inherit from blog" border treatment which i think should not touch (recompress) the image. or should I use none instead?

I think no matter what we will mess with the image. I know this isn't desirable, I'm sorry.

Well, I'm glad someone else saw this too. Why would an image file that when uploaded directly to Picasa be 67KB be 88KB using WLW? Why mess with it? I don't know about others, but I watch my image file size carefully so I don't need to purchase storage from Google Picasa- no need to rush that :). I don't get it- why do you have to mess with the file size? I usually just upload it directly and then copy the code in- WLW is supposed to make blogging easier.

I've searched around looking for some work-around for this but found nothing. JPG images are converted to PNG files and they are HUGE. It's very frustrating. I have some images going from 200k to almost 800K or even 1.2MB???!

Having a way to set the compression on an image from the LW editor would be very nice.

So, is this the final answer 'no matter what we will mess with the image'? Not sure I understand why from that comment- or like it. A why would be good. :)
