Where did you download your validation files?

The file in question is "legitcheckcontrol.dll". Its located in your c:\windows\system32 directory.

Please visit www.microsoft.com/genuine  and click "Validate Windows" - that should resync the WGA Validation files. Afterwards, please click Start, then Run, then type in "WGAtray.exe /b" , press the Enter key and then restart your computer.

Same problem;  Got message saying my windows xp was counterfeit ( it isn't).   I was able to re-validate after downloading an active x file but there is an icon now stuck in the right side of my task bar  that looks like a little blue star and continues to give this notice.  How do I remove this icon?

    Thanks
