Well, i can tell you how to make it go away, though in my case it reappears next update
Now you have ran the mga and got a genuine reading, go here http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/downloads/Validate.aspx?displaylang=en
This should also tell you it is genuine If it doesnt, turn on Active x in internet options, security, custom settings (enable everything that says Active X)
Now go Start, run and type in WGATray /b
That should get rid of it.
Thanks for those suggestions.
I followed them but I am still getting the same message.
I have run the WGA download; I have validated the software; MGA still says genuine; enabled active-x and run the wgatray /b.
This machine is supposed to be running in the OR, and the last thing the docs need when they go to pull up the xrays/ct scans is to be told they are illegal (and to spend time clicking around to get rid of the fool message).
The wga message started after I reformatted my Dell and re-loaded windows. Then I installed the MS updates (which were fine) and then installed a new nvidia card. Since then it's been wga heartbreak!
Any more suggestions?? HELP!!
Ran a second validate and now I have the 0x80080100 error. Here's the mga results right after the error:

Looking at the diagnostics output, it looks like your system is perfectly fine. Looking at this line here:
>Notifications Data-->
>Cached Result: 0
>File Exists: Yes
>Version: 1.5.540.0
>WgaTray.exe Signed By: Microsoft
>WgaLogon.dll Signed By: MicrosoftThe Cached Result of 0 is a logged "Genuine" status - meaning that you should not be recieving any notifications (login prompt, or the toolbar). The software caches WGA Validation status during the diagnostics run.
Can you clarify the issue you're seeing? When are you seeing the messaging exactly? Has there made any attempts to modify core system32 files that may have caused these issues?
Changing the Video card (or adding it) may have put you into an Activation required status (from hardware updates). Is the messaging on the page saying Activation is required?

Hi Blatfink,
Can you run our diagnostic tool and post the output here as a reply to this post?
1) Logon to the PC that is experiencing the notifications as a user with ADMIN rights.
2) Download the tool: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 click RUN.
3) When the tool loads, click CONTINUE.
4) Is the RESOLVE button available? If so, please click RESOLVE to allow the diagnostic tool to repair the issue.
5) From the Windows tab, click the COPY button.
6) Reply back to this post and PASTE the results of the diagnostic tool.
This will help us find out why you are receiving notifications and help you resolve the issue so they stop.
Thanks!!
Michelle

Hi Purple Collie,
I have reviewed both of the diagnostic outputs that you posted. Thank you for providing them. I can see from comparing the outputs that the first output you posted was when the PC was still running the preinstalled image from Dell (OEM SLP).
The second output posted confirms that you did a reinstall of Windows XP Professional which made Windows Product Activation required. The diagnostic output indicates that the system is running genuine Windows.I have also confirmed the following:
1) Windows Product Activation on the PC took place on 9/25/2006 @ 12:58:28 PM and was completed (successful) via TELEPHONE.
2) Windows Genuine Advantage Validation took place on 9/25/2006 @ 1:00:45 PM and was successful. As Phil confirmed, this PC should not be seeing any non-genuine notifications.
Can you take a moment to tell us what you are seeing?
1) When you logon with a user account that has ADMIN privileges do you encounter any errors?
2) When you logon as a user with LIMITED privileges is this when you encounter the error? If so, what do you see?
3) When OR users (doctors, nurses, staff, etc) need to use the PC, do they logon with a single account that has LIMITED privs or just use the GUEST account?
4) Can you tell me if the user account profiles are stored locally or are the on your network (i.e., roaming).I look forward to your response and I'm certain we'll be able to help you find a resolution.
Thanks,
Michelle- I have the SAME PROBLEM as you for months now! Thank goodness Im not alone!!! I checked and re-checked and it shows genuine but I still get the notification everytime I restart my PC. This is getting on my nerves!!! What is happening to Microsoft?!?!?!Sheesh
