Windows 10 policies in 2012R2 domain?

Question
-
Hi,
We recently upgraded from a 2008 domain to 2012R2 domain and I want to create templates for Windows 10 computers. I downloaded the ADMX installer for Windows 10 and Server 2016 from Microsoft and installed it.
I then copied the ADMX files and ADML files from C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Group Policy... to my central store in SYSVOL.
When I try to edit a policy in the Group Policy Manager I still don't see the policy settings I want to change. For example, I want to disable Cortona. I am told it is located under Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Search. I have found Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates: Policy definitions (ADMX files) retrieved from the central store, but I cannot find Windows Components or Search.
Did I miss something in my setup, any suggestions? I'm also trying to create policies to manage the Store and OneDrive but can't find those settings either.
Thanks in advance,
Linn

Hi,
First please make sure you have a Windows 10 template to edit the Windows 10 related settings/policies on GPMC, and all you Domain Controllers should be updated with Windows 10 admx files with their Group Policy Central Store. Following steps need to be followed.
- Download the Windows 10 new templates.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=53430
- Extract the admx and adml files.
- Copy them to the Group Policy Central Store.
- New GPO’s can be crated with new settings.
- Check the settings which we have implemented.

I also found one thread which discussed the similar scenario, here is the link for your reference:
Disable cortana windows 10 gpo on Server 2012 r2

As a workaround, to disable Cortana, we could also perform registry modifications using group policy preferences.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Search
to a DWORD with a value of 0. If you set it to 1 or delete the key, Cortana will be enabled.

Sorry Alvin,
Took me a bit to get back to this project, don't usually get much time on each project these days.
I don't know what happened but I started going through the links you referenced and found that my Central Store actually did not contain the admx files. I know I copied them before I posted the original question. But now that I've copied them again I actually can find the policies I was looking for.
One of my computers just applied the Creators Update version 1703, makes me wonder, are there any new policies with this update?
Thanks,
Linn

Hi,
Below is the download link of Administrative Templates (.admx) for Windows 10 (1703) Creators Update.
Administrative Templates (.admx) for Windows 10 (1703) Creators Update
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=55080
If the Windows 10 computers in the environment are Windows 10 Creators Update, I suggest you install Windows_ 10_Creators_Update_ADMX.msi. ADMX template files are down-version-compatible.
