  • I am using the text editor in VS2010.  Every time I start to type a new line of code a double parentheses appears after the first character I type.  I have looked everywhere on the IDE and cannot keep these parentheses from appearing.  For some reason this start happening on this one project and I have no idea why.  Other projects do not seem to be affected.

I asked this question on another forum and after trying a number of things I found that if I moved the project to another user account on my Vista 32 machine the problem disappeared.  They said at this point that it was likely that I had some User profile corruption  issues, so I looking for the best place to find out what may the problem be on the user account where this one particular project exhibits this odd behavior.

I should note that when this happens on this project, and I try to backspace anywhere in the text editor Visual studio shuts down and I lose every change that I made.  This new behavior is unacceptable seeing as it started for an unknown reason, to me at least, and before this happened I was having no problem with the text editor.

What is really strange to me is why does this happen on only this one project in my main user account.  And if I move it to another user account it works as expected.  Very strange!! Please let me know where I should post this question.  Thanks.
