I am not authorized to access partner forums RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to access the Microsoft Partner forums with my Windows Live account associated with my company, a Microsoft Gold Partner.  I should be able to access the partner forums but I am unavailble to-- when I go to the website it says I am not authorized.  My account has been associated with the company for more than 48 hours and still no access.

What do I need to do to get access to the forums?

    Thanks,
    John

  • Hi John,

    Thank you for the post.

Could you please let us know wheather you can log on to http://partner.microsoft.com .

Please verify that you were logging in with the account that is affiliated as a Microsoft Partner?  If so, what are that account ID's so we can check into this further if need be.

We are also not seeing that your profile is not affiliated with Microsoft Partner. For reference please find the attached screen grab of it.

If you were not affiliated with Partner affiliation previously, please follow the below steps.

Steps to Enroll in Partner Community:

    1. Associate your Windows Live ID with an existing member organization in the Microsoft Partner Network Program.
    2. Refer to first-time user guidance to configure the user profile on forums.
    3. Wait for 48 hours for your account to be affiliated as a partner. Note: Otherwise, you will get "You are not authorized to perform this action  error when signing Forums.
    4. Load
http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/categories , click Sign In on the top right corner, and sign in by using your associated Live ID.
Categories with  (Partner)  will be visible and those are the communities specific for Microsoft partners.
    5. Submit a tech thread.

    Thanks!

  • My account is definitely associated with my new company and I can log in to our partner site.  I can actually log in to the partner forums now, but I did not test posting anything yet.  I am assuming somebody fixed this for me?

  • Hi Ahawani,

I am having the same issue.  I believe my Window Live ID is already affiliated with my company which is an MS partner.  I was unable to find the first-time user guidance you refer to in step two and I am unsure of what to do next.  Please advise.

    Thanks,

    Carly
