Critical issues copy for Live Mesh forums

Issue: I've installed the Live Mesh for Mobile client on my mobile device, but when I try to sign in I'm told there is limited availability, and I cannot add my device at this time.
Workaround: In order to add your mobile device to your mesh, you must do both of the following:- Click on the promo code link from your computer (not your mobile device).
- Visit www.mesh.com from your computer (again, not from your mobile device) and add that device to your mesh from the Devices page.
Note: Please make sure that your Country/Region is correctly set on your Live ID profile page (http://account.live.com).
Issue: I cannot delete Live Mesh folders using my mobile phone.Workaround: Deleting Live Mesh folders from a mobile device is not supported. You must delete the folders from your mesh using your computer instead.
Issue: Deleting a file on your mobile device deletes it on every synchronized device.
Workaround: When you use your mobile phone to delete a file from your Live Desktop, you delete it everywhere. You can recover the file from the Recycle bin on your PC or the Trash on your Mac.
Issue: I cannot synchronize a Live Mesh folder, for which I have reader permissions, with my mobile device.
Cause: To synchronize a folder with your mobile phone, you must have creator, owner, or contributor permissions for that Live Mesh folder.
Issue: Live Mesh error reporting is not enabled by default.Workaround: To enable reporting, connect the phone to the PC or Mac, navigate to the Settings menu, select Error Reporting and set it to Enable.
Issue: Copy and Paste is not enabled for Live Mesh Mobile.
Fix Status: Future builds may contain this feature.
Issue: Settings and credentials may be reset after upgrading the client.
Fix Status: The next release will contain a fix for this issue.
Issue: Unable to resolve file conflicts on mobile devices.
Workaround: Resolving conflicts from your mobile device is not currently supported. To resolve file conflicts use the Live Mesh Desktop.
Issue: During installation you may see the following message: “Cleanup of previous version failed, do you want to continue?”.
Workaround: Cancel the installation, turn off your phone, then turn it back on and start the installation over.
Issue: Synchronization stopped with your mobile device.
Workaround: If you exceed the storage limits of your mobile device, synchronization will stop for that folder on all devices until the space issue is resolved. Please Note: You must have at least 10% free memory on your mobile device for synchronization to take place.

Can you please clarify what is meant by "free memory" in the "Syncronization stopped with your mobile device" issue? Although I suppose this means "free storage memory" and not "free program memory", it wouldn't hurt to be specific.Tuesday, December 9, 2008 12:17 PM

With Nov 1, 2009 daylight saving time change, all 35 of the photos in my cell phone were resynch'd to my Windows 7 desktop (peer-to-peer share) even though the files didn't really change. The photos are stored on a microSD card, probably FAT filesystem. Is this a known issue?

Not that I'm aware of. Could you bug it?
Does the phone have the DST patch installed? Are you doing an automatic P2P sync from the device? Perhaps the time on the device didn't update (from the carrier) before the automatic sync check?

Can you add that some HTC/SPB additions make Live Mesh start and then immediately crash. Last time I used SPB wallet I had to delete some dumb IE file they add that killed Live Mesh. Not sure what it is anymore some random HTC addition won't let mesh start. Thanks.Friday, November 13, 2009 3:03 AM

Actually, pretty much all of the newer HTC phones with 6.1 and 6.5 WM since the Touch 2 have problems with Live Mesh. We'll ahve to await an update for Live Mesh to resolve that issue.

Not yet, unfortunately. I'm in the same boat after getting an HTC Pure earlier this year - no Live Mesh on it.-steve
