Intend to use on a Mac - recommendations?

  I hope to run Songsmith on a Mac  1) which version of Windows is the "minimum" needed?  I don't need the latest version of Windows, only what is necessary to run Songsmith.  (Hoping to keep my costs down)  2) If anyone is doing this already and has a recommended emulator I'm interested - thanks
