sync framework future

  Anyone know what to use after the sync framework? what is the future or the modern way of syncing local and production databases? 

  I am using a .NET desktop application to store to microsoft compact db, and syncing to sql server 2012. 

  Any suggestions on how to sync in the future, and use which local datastore?
