Windows 7 Enterprise to Professional RRS feed

  • Spørgsmål

  • I'm looking for some advice or help. I currently have Windows 7 Enterprise installed on my PC and have exhausted the rearming of the trial. Windows 7 Professional seems like all I actual need but I'm wondering if its possible to purchase Win 7 Pro and activate the Product key on this trial. I have the PC set up perfectly with various software and was hoping to avoid a complete format, is this at all possible?

    Thank you.

  • Unfortunately, you cannot convert or downgrade an installed Windows 7 Enterprise trial operating system to Windows 7 Professional.  You will need to purchase a "Full Version" edition of Windows 7 and perform a "clean install" which will require reinstalling your programs.  Your existing files and setting can be reinstalled utilizing Windows Easy Transfer.

  • As Carey indicates, no.  As with all trials you should read the limitations before using.  As the Guidelines on Usage on the download page states

"After the 90-day Trial expires, if you wish to continue to use Windows 7 Enterprise, please note that you will be required to purchase and perform a clean installation of Windows 7, including drivers and applications. Please keep this in mind; Windows 7 Enterprise is not available through retail channels."
