CRM 2011 - Unable to open deployment manager mmc snap in error

    Question

  • Hi,

    I am using crm 2011 and it is working fine still yesterday. today when i am trying to open deployment manager it is giving error "MMC cannot initialize the snap in" i tried "run as administrator" there also it is giving the same error. I haven't  made any updates recently.can you pls guide to to resolve the issue.

  • Hi Jeriesh,

    Did you open the deployment manager with the same Administrator Account?

    Can you try right-click and "Run as Admin" option?

    Just my thoughts for the above problem would be,

    [1].If we are you using more than one active directories.

    [2].Can you try ping your active direcory.I hope this could not able to reach AD Server.

    [3].Application server might me removed from domain.

  • I realize this is already marked as closed, but I ran into this same issue when I logged into my CRM development VM today.  All I had to do was to

    1: restart the Active Directory Domain Service (which triggered a few other services to get restarted automatically), and

    2: restart the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Asynchronous Service (not the maintenance one)

    The Deployment Manager was up an running immediately after these two simple steps.
