Synchronize Action when the same file is modified on both computers? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have been successfully using SyncToy 2.0 (with Echo action) as a backup tool, and it has worked just fine.

But I now want use it to synchronise the user files on two computers (my desktop and my netbook) which have the same programs and user files, and I might use either computer to update one of the user files.  If I modify the same file on both computers, can I be sure that the Synchronize action will result in the later modified file ending up on both computers?  The Help explanation of Synchronize implies that this will happen only if the later modified file is on the left computer.

    Clarification, please?

Answers

  • Yes, for action as Synchronize, you should get the file ending up with the latest modified one, either it is on left side or right side.
