When is Pocket PC becoming multilingual?

Question
-
Windows Mobile Standard has had multilingual capabilities for a long time. Unfortunately, Microsoft seems to have killed WM Standard, first by naming it 'Standard' so users and OEM's think it's a dumbed down OS and avoid it or put it in underpowered hardware, and then by releasing a 6.5 version with nothing new to offer (My Phone and Marketplace can be downloaded to WM 6.1 anyway.)
So, when is the so-called Professional version of Windows Mobile going to become multilingual? How come I can download a language pack for Ultimate Win 7 or Vista, but not for Windows Mobile Professional?Friday, February 5, 2010 8:33 PM

I'd agree with you. Sometimes it's a pain in the neck...

In fact, Windows Phones should offer the option to install or remove language packs as needed (the way BlackBerrys do). I shouldn't have to buy a Windows Phone from Spain (which won't have the necessary 3G bands for US) just to get Spanish UI or input.Tuesday, February 9, 2010 5:37 PM

I second this with all my might. I'm so tired of searching high and low for asian IMEs SIPs and basic font support. I love windows mobile but I have to say the multilingual input and display at the touch of a button on an iphone makes a very tempting offer.
Microsoft please fix this with windows phone 7 series, or you may be losing a very loyal customer.Wednesday, February 17, 2010 10:05 PM -
