IE7 protected mode - IE unresponsive - OneCare? RRS feed

  • Hello All,

    I am new to Win Live OneCare and I am having a problem with IE 7 protected mode conflicting with Live OneCare causing IE to not respond after about the second to third tab opening.  This takes forever to come up between the tabs, probably 20-30 seconds if it comes up at all.  It would not open my local comcast email at all.

    My system is Vista 64bit on a new machine with a 2.66GHZ processor and 4 gb memory, which otherwise seems to do fine with the, (now uninstalled Norton).

    The streaming video through IE has halted too.

     

    I have done a reinstall with much aggrevation and have narrowed the problems to what I believe I have explained here.  However, the Protected Mode can not be turned on without the reoccurance of the IE not responding and consequently shutting down IE.

     

    Any OneCare tools that can help or should be run?

     

    Can OneCare coexist and operate with IE7 in the protected mode?

     

    Can the Comcast email or streaming video be related ( it is working without protection mode )?

     

    Is the 64bit version of Vista the only one having this issue?  Is it related to the 64bit operating system?
