  • I'm trying to redeem the Ultimate bonus pack.  My Office installation may also qualify, but I was trying to work out Ultimate first.

  • Dear ISWLVS,

Thank you for your interest in the Buy Local program. This program is open to customers in the US. Are you located in the US? From whom did you purchase your machine?

    Thank you,

    Jenifer

  • Yes I'm in the US.  Software and hardware was purchased through Newegg.

  • I've been looking at other entries here, and I should've mentioned I'm with the US military in Iraq and our ISP is not a US company.  All parts were purchased through newegg.com and I have a permanent US address, am a resident, etc.  I am just currently deployed in Iraq.

  • In order to be eligible for the Bonus Pack, you must purchase a "fully assembled" new computer from a select list of system builders that install an OEM version of Windows Vista.  Unfortunately, you do not qualify since you purchased Windows Vista Ultimate edition and installed it on a computer you assembled yourself.  Please review the following:

How can I tell if the copy of Microsoft Windows that was installed on my computer is eligible for the BONUS PACK offer?: http://www.localpcbuilder.com/eligible/

  • from the page you linked, the information does not exclude home built PCs.  It states:

For a license to be eligible it must have one of the part numbers on this page OR be purchased through one of the PC builders listed on this page.

My part number is shown:  66R-00765

Can you clarify any further what the problem is?

  • Hi ISWLVS,

You failed eligibility because the validation and eligibility check recognized that you were not within the United States. Please create a support incident at  https://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?c1=509&gprid=9860, then post the incident ID here so I can contact you directly.

    Thank you,

    Jenifer

  • I didn't see an "Incident ID", but the Initial Support request Number and "confirmation number":  1043348520

Number in the first e-mail reply subject line:  SRX1043348520ID

    Is this what you need?

  • Hi ISWLVS,

Yes, that is the number I needed. As soon as I get the information I need from my contact in Support, I will contact you directly.

    Thank you,

    Jenifer

  • I received an e-mail about "differences between North American and localized versions of software".  This can not be my problem, my software is a standard US version purchased from NewEgg.com.  I listed the part number in this thread earlier.

  • Hi ISWLVS,

No, this isn't your issue. The purpose of having you create a Support Incident was not to have Support troubleshoot your issue, but in order that I can get your contact info to contact you directly without having you post it here in the clear. Go ahead and ignore the "info" you recieved from Support.

It usually takes my contact a couple days to get me your info. I'll contact you via e-mail as soon as I can.

    Thank you for your patience.
