  • Question

  • I have a test machine previously running  Win 7, upgraded to Windows 10.

Although I used the Windows 7 key to do the upgrade, the desktop says "evaluation copy"

Some Autodesk software does not run on Windows 10, so I installed Hyper V and created a guest Windows 7 VM.

It has been a few weeks since I first did this, so now I have "not genuine" warnings all the time, although I did use the same Windows 7 key from before.

Looks like I am missing something here.

  • I thought I'd responded to this??

Anyhow - if you used the Windows 7 Product Key for the basis of your Upgrade, you cannot also use it in any other way - including as the license in a VM or Hyper-V install. You will need a separate license for that.

If you uninstall Windows 10, you can revert back to your old Windows 7 License.
