    One of the downsides of both the Newsgroups and the new Forums is that they are 'pull' applications, ie you have to go to them to see the posts.

    An Email ListServer is a 'push' application, where the posts are sent without any need to go anywhere to get them. This can be much easier to use for busy people who can filter as appropriate and answer any they have an interest in.

    How about having the option on the forum to have all posts sent to you in a similar way. There could be an option to see original posts only, not replies.

    We have RSS feeds that push.  We really think this is the way to go here and would like to continue investing in making feeds better if they currently don't meet your needs, so please give us feedback on them.

    Thanks for the feedback Ian, and good talking to you in person yesterday. I've added this to our list of suggestions to consider as we start planning our next major release. As Sam mentioned, we'll need to consider how we improve RSS as well, and make sure we're not solving the same need. Just reading all posts from a forum, is pretty similar to RSS, but if you had the ability to reply and post back to the forum from email, that would be different. I'm not sure what the technical limitations are here, but this is definitely a request we've heard from quite a few people. We'll keep thinking about it.
