    "Windows Vista is not Genuine" and I have a black screen,This is not my only problem though.I have a old Optiplex Desktop and the guy I got it from had Windows Xp Home Edition on it with Windows Vista Pro written over Xp so therefore I can not uninstall windows Vista without getting some kind of technical support and since the Computer is so old I just dont want to put the money into it to get Windows Vista off of it.Can someone help me with this please?????If I could activate the copy of the copy of windows Vista I still dont have the Product Key to do that either so either way I am out of luck.

    Is there a COA sticker on the machine? For what version and edition of Windows is it valid?

    You could try and see if the manufacturer has any Recovery media for that machine available.

    To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
    (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
     Once saved, run the tool.
    Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
     To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.
      - **in your own thread**, please
     
    Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!

    Consider purchasing a genuine edition of Windows 7 and perform a "clean install".

    Your best bet is to see if Dell have a set of XP Recovery Media for that machine - usually around $25, I think.

    You could also try restoredisks.com and see if they have a set.

    I'm surprised that the system is claiming to have an OA2.0 BIOS - this may be the residue of a hacker's Loader (Activation Exploit) - as I didn't think it was released until well after 2004.

    You also neglected to say anything about any COA sticker.
