What about lumia 920/1020? RRS feed

  • We are still investigating with the Lumia team if it is possible to support devices that originally shipped with 8.0. Unfortunately these phones did not receive new GPU support (in other words updated drivers) in the 8.1 update. Hyperlapse needs this in order to process and warp video in real-time.

  • According to this page

the Lumia 1020 - you know - the Windows Phone for photography enthusiasts? - is not a supported phone for Hyperlapse.  Are there plans to support the Lumia 1020 in the future?

    Sincerely,

  • In the app store I'm unable to download the app, and instead met with a message about it being unavailable for my device, but Lumia 930 is listed as supported.

  • I'm in Australia and I get the message "This app is no longer published" What gives?
    Thursday, May 14, 2015 1:39 PM
  • If you open through the browser you can see the app was unpublished, for some reason.

  • +1

This is nuts that Hyperlapse is available on the Lumia 435, but not the 1020.

  • +1 for 920

  • It has WP8.1 and 1GB of ram so I don't see why it should not work

  • The Lumia 1020 is probably the ONLY phone that this should have been made for!  It's the only phone out there with a decent camera AND it has a tripod mount accessory available for it.  You can actually attach the Lumia 1020 to a helmet or vehicle by using its camera grip case!  Perfect for using software like this to make awesome time-lapse videos.

  • I was really patient about waiting this app and waiting for better/quicker camera app and just waiting for things....

1020 owners are basically photo fans and there is nothing for them, not an upgrade, we are just waiting for flagship months and years. I think it is the end, there is no hope that MS ever can catch up up...

  • What, exactly, is the technical reason for leaving the 1020 out in the dust.  Less than 2 years ago this was *the* flagship MS phone.  Now, the 435 can have this app, but not the 1020.  Seriously?  Even when the new flagship Win10 phone is released later this year I may not get it if this is the support I get from Microsoft.  We're being very patient MS, but that will not last forever.

  • I'm quite disappointed myself. I remain hopeful that they extend the compatibility for this app. I'm a professional photographer and enthusiast video producer and love the Lumia 920 as a companion device in that regard. I was very much looking forward to this app and am now sorely disappointed that my phone does meet microsoft's list of requirements but is simply just not available. Really hoping to see this come to the 920.

  • They might want you to update to a 30 or higher class device. I also use 920 and an disappointed I can't get the hyperlapse.

  • I noticed that Lumia 1020 isn't on the list of supported windows phone devices.

I just wonder why? Since Lumia 1020 is still the best mobile camera device of the windows phone family.

But can I still shoot the video with the Lumia 1020 and make the video with desktop application?

  • Thank you for your kind reply.  I understand you may not be a decision-maker here, so please do not take this personally, but are we to understand that Microsoft did not find time to update GPU drivers for faithful Lumia owners but found time to create an entire app for Android devices for Hyperlapse? Thanks. Looking forward to that Hyperlapse app on my Lumia 1020 and 920s. Carl.

  • Why is the Lumia 1020 not supported?  Will it be supported soon?

So can the Lumia team update the driver in 1020 or not? Otherwise the app is not going to meet it's full potential with the camera on the 1020....

  • As far as I know - GPU used in 1020 (Adreno 225) could be slightly slower that one used in Lumia 530 (Adreno 302). But 225 has more pipelines to operate, and I really don't understand why 225 GPU can't be used in Hyperlapse.

I think noone will suffer if their video woud be rendered some seconds more than on newer phones.

Agreed, my Lumia 1020 has the official (not preview) download of Windows 8.1 (Lumia Denim) and the device has 2 GB of RAM. In addition, my 920 with Windows 8.1 (Lumia Cyan) with 1 GB of RAM should also be able to support Hyperlapse.

  • but when the phones like 520, 620, 720 are updated to windows 10, will this still matter? i mean if Hyperlapse is windows 10 mobile compatible, then every phone that upgrades to that universal platform and probably get drivers too will be hyperlapse compatible, right?

  • Same question for my Lumia 925...

  • Hi Matt!

    Any update on that case?

    Monday, June 8, 2015 1:00 PM
  • There's a lot of people complaining that Hyperlapse is not available on their phone.  I'm joining in with the 1320.  It has Windows Phone 8.1 Update (Lumia Denim), so it qualifies for software, 1.7GHz dual core processor, and 1GB of ram, so I think it qualifies for the hardware.

Also, what about the 1020?  41MP camera.  Is this not the app for it?

And why can you cerate an app for android, yet cannot support your own phones?

  • Can we still have some hope for a Hyperlapse app compatibility when Win10 is released? May I suppose new OS means new drivers layer am I right?

Do you mean you're investigating if the older devices can be updated with new drivers or how to update the older phones with these drivers?

  • +1 for 920 updated GPU drivers! How come give us an 8.1 update without the drivers? #Shame.
