  • Hello gman2906,

Could you provide some more detail on the problem you are experiencing?  You wrote that you need a product code to run Word.

Let's check to see if Office is a Trial installation or not.
    1. Start Microsoft Office Word 2007.
    2. Click the Microsoft Office Button.
    3. Click program name Options.
    4. In the Navigation Pane, click Resources.
    5. Click About next to about Microsoft Office Word 2007.
The About dialog box will tell you if this is a Trial or not.

If it's a Trial, let's check to see if it is expired or not.

    1. Start Word 2007.
    2. Click the Microsoft Office Button.
    3. Click program name Options.
    4. In the navigation pane, click Resources.
    5. Click Activate next to activate Microsoft Office.
If the trial version of 2007 Office has expired, the 2007 Office program will display a message that states this fact.

If you are running an expired trial version of 2007 Office, you must install a retail version of 2007 Office. You cannot activate an expired trial version of 2007 Office.

    Hello gman 2906,

Here is a snippet of your mgadiag report:

The report is showing that your installation of Office Home and Student 2007 is a Trial installation.  I am guessing that your Trial period is now over and that Office and Word are no longer fully functional.

Please follow the instructions in this MS KB article to purchase a product key and convert your Office trial to a perpetually licensed copy of Office:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927756
