Change CRM 4.0 Collation RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys,

For integration reasons I need to change the default Collations for my CRM 4.0 Deploy. Now the CRM Collation is Modern_Spanish_CI_AI, SQL SortOrder=0, I need change to SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS, SQLSortOrder=52. I was wondering if this change will affect my hystoric data (retroactive) or any functionality in my CRM.

    Regards..

  • Hi Jimmy,

I wouldn't advise changing the collation of an already installed crm system.  When doing select queries, etc you can always cast your collation as something else.

We had a similar situation and when we tested in a test environment did work ok, but I still would not advise it.

  • I totally agree with Alex. I have also tried changing the collations, and something worked great, while others didn't. I really don't now the technical reason why, but i will never do this again.
